Here it is, 10:00 pm again which must mean it's time for another posting!
Today I had some incredible opportunities knocking!
1st. Dr. Bowe, the esteemed principal of my school, needed some decor help in his office and I had volunteered to help about a week ago. Today I finally made my way to his office and low and behold, a professional interior designer had also made his way there! I got to work with the incredible Frederick Laderer (or rather stand in the way with my jaw on the floor while he worked). I'm still reeling. I hope I made a good impression! He did give me his business card and invite me to stop by his work (one well known, high end decor-store) and said he would show me what he does there! He also mentioned some design schools that I might be interested in! Lucky me!
2. Speaking of design schools, last fall I attended a college fair and was drawn to a table by (I'm ashamed to say) the beautiful pictures and bright colors. (Excellent marketing on their part!) It was for Living Arts College in Raleigh, NC. I told the representative that I was interested in Interior Design and she said that the college did not have the program at that time but that they were trying to get a rough estimate of how many people were. I happily filled out a card and today I got a phone call from her saying they now offer degrees in Interior Design! I'm thrilled! She also invited me to come tour the campus so a date will be set and I will be bringing my camera along! I might even try video posting one of these days.
So overall: INCREDIBLE DAY.
Pictures of Dr. Bowe's newly designed office will be posted tomorrow!
